Applications Engineer I

Silvus Technologies, headquartered in West Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 on‑site days per week (Mon, Wed, Thu) and up to 25% travel.

• Design and test complete solutions that solve unique technical problems.
• Define new products and features, perform product evaluations and field trials.
• Provide comprehensive support to customers and the sales team through troubleshooting, system integration engineering, product recommendations, and technical analysis via phone, online, and in‑person.
• Participate in on‑call support rotation for critical customer escalations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support requests through in‑house or field testing and validation.
• Test and harden existing features through firmware and hardware changes in realistic applications.
• Support Sales Engineering team with demonstrations, training, testing, and reproducing field issues.
• Create and maintain customer‑facing documentation such as manuals, guides, videos, and application notes.
• Assist RMA and loaner teams with equipment recommendations and vetting requests.
• Travel up to 25% to provide in‑person engineering support.
• Perform additional duties as required.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Proficiency with instruments such as spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and RF/network test equipment.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and interact with cross‑functional teams and customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with PC office applications and mobile devices.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites.
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
• All employment contingent upon successful background check and drug test.

• Proficiency with TCP/IP protocol and networking.
• Experience with operating and testing IP radios/modems.
• Knowledge of wireless communication systems, RF signal propagation, and digital communication technologies.
• Experience testing embedded radio communication systems.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python or C/C++.

• Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during field work.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. for demonstration and testing setup.
• Walking/Moving in labs.

$75,000 - $90,000 annually (salary range based on market research and candidate experience).
