Job Overview: Lead large-scale Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) and Service projects, ensuring successful execution, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement.

• Manage all aspects of EPC or Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality.
• Remain conversant with Black & Veatch engineering capabilities, identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities.
• Leverage domain experience (utility and energy systems, 10+ years utility operations, program, risk and financial management).
• Oversee day‑to‑day execution of engineering, procurement, and construction scopes to satisfy performance, financial, schedule, quality, contractual, safety, and client‑satisfaction metrics.
• Act as an advisor for owners and regional leadership on program controls and project execution strategies.
• Drive staffing of the project, ensuring resource availability and mobility.
• Lead and mentor large, multi‑discipline project teams, cultivating internal talent growth.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities, integrating third‑party contributions.
• Represent Black & Veatch in high‑level client‑facing engagements, managing stakeholder communication at all levels.
• Coordinate subcontractors, lead non‑Black & Veatch contractors, and guide them toward successful workflow and client expectations.
• Apply continuous‑improvement methodology to enhance program scale, efficiencies, and lessons learned.
• Manage large end‑to‑end projects involving multiple clients, multiple partners, or medium‑size EPC projects.
• Navigate complex client or project structures, addressing greater challenges in team members, scope, or location.
• Secure new or repeat business on large projects and support contract negotiations.
• Mitigate risk across fixed‑price, novel technology, non‑domestic markets, or new client engagements.

• Act as the primary project manager responsible for overseeing the project team and ensuring project deliverables align with client expectations.

• Business traveler schedule: approximately 60% of work weeks require travel; non‑travel days may be worked in office or remotely.
• On non‑travel weeks, professionals may work in a Black & Veatch office up to three days a week and remotely up to two days.
• Hybrid work schedule: three days in office and two days remote on non‑travel weeks.

• Hybrid work: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
• Typical environments include office, construction sites, extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards (electric currents, scaffolding, high places, chemical exposure), and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Duties may involve sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods, and lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience in utility, energy systems, or program management.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records searches.
• Preferably 12 years of experience in a senior program or project management role.
