Job Summary
Early Career Geotechnical Engineer position at Geosyntec in Los Angeles, CA requiring hands‑on field investigations, construction monitoring, engineering calculations, and report writing.
Responsibilities- Conduct geotechnical field investigations
- Monitor heavy civil construction projects
- Perform and review engineering calculations
- Work in earthquake engineering, dam and levee evaluations, design, and permitting
- Develop construction documents
- Write and review engineering reports
- Travel to client, project, or office sites as required
- Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or environmental engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in the same field (preferred)
- At least 2 years of experience in engineering consulting or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Prior internship or work in engineering consulting (preferred)
- Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS (preferred)
- Regular field work and overnight travel (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel (required)
Typical base salary: $77,235 – $111,800 per year (Los Angeles, CA). Compensation is determined by education, experience, skill set, and location.
