Traffic Engineer​/Division Lead in Los Angeles

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Traffic Engineer to establish and lead a new Traffic Engineering division at Sikand Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to build a department from the ground up within an established, highly respected firm. You will be responsible for managing all traffic and transportation engineering projects, optimizing traffic flow, and ensuring safe, efficient roadway networks for our diverse portfolio of private development and public agency clients.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing intersection capacity and geometric design analysis, developing turn lane and channelization designs, and conducting AutoTURN and swept path analysis for complex site layouts. You will prepare traffic impact studies, parking studies, and circulation plans while coordinating with local agencies like LA County, the City of Santa Clarita, and Caltrans to secure approvals. You will also collaborate with our in-house civil engineering, surveying, and planning teams to ensure seamless project integration and assist in business development efforts to secure new traffic engineering contracts.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California. A Traffic Engineer (TE) license is highly . You should have a minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning, with strong proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, VISSIM, and AutoTURN, as well as AutoCAD Civil 3D.

A proven track record of successfully navigating agency review processes in Southern California and an entrepreneurial mindset are essential.
