Overview
It is an exciting time to join HNTB’s integrated aviation planning and environmental practice! We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with excellent analytical and communication skills and a passion for aviation to help deliver our large portfolio of aviation planning projects at the nation’s largest and most exciting airports. The successful candidate will bring experience in either drawing‑based software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
and/or data analysis/programming languages (Excel, VBA, Python, etc.). This position can be located at one of several HNTB offices where we have a nucleus of aviation planning staff.
- Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes, and provides review of the data for use in projects and for further analysis.
- Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.
- Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
- Conducts research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning. Assists in the development of conceptual planning alternatives for urban and transportation planning projects.
- Performs tasks related to the preparation and production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Assists in stakeholder and public participation process.
- Maintains records, collections, and files related to specific projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, or related field
- Prepares technical work for a wide variety of airport planning and preliminary design projects.
- Supports capacity analyses for airport facilities.
- Develops concepts and alternative drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and ArcGIS.
- Prepares technical reports for airport planning studies.
- Constructs and uses airport simulation models (AirTOP, VISSIM, etc.).
- Highly responsive to client requests.
- Prepares stakeholder and public presentations.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 2 years of experience.
- Prior airport planning experience.
- Passion for the aviation industry.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
The approximate pay range for this position varies by location. For Massachusetts: $71,233.98 – $. For Los Angeles Metro Area & Orange County: $68,265.89 – $. For California San Francisco Bay Area: $74,202.07 – $. Nationwide approximate range: $59,361.65 – $. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, skill set, and location.
