About the Role
Minimed is seeking an experienced Sr. EMC Test Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of EMC testing methods and equipment for product verification and compliance.
Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate testing schedules, define test parameters and procedures, and ensure the proper setup of equipment required for sample evaluation.
- Analyze and compile test data, identify and implement improvements to testing equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes.
- Author detailed verification test plans and comprehensive test reports while collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure product quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
- Support design verification activities associated with insulin delivery pump/transmitter systems used by individuals to manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
- Support EMC testing and global RF licensing activities of new and existing products, in‑house or third‑party labs.
- Support the development and implementation of EMC design guidelines and best practices.
- Operate a fully equipped semi‑anechoic chamber and electrical testing equipment such as DMM, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power amplifiers, microscopes, and oscilloscopes.
- Develop and document design verification test protocol, plans, and reports in compliance with FDA/ISO and global regulations.
- Stay current with industry standards and advancements in EMC technology.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Ops, Regulatory, Quality).
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and technical writing skills.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to establish and support development and testing strategies for the product and system.
- Design basic electrical equipment, tools, and test fixtures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- MS in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
- Familiarity with a lab/testing environment.
- Experience in the medical device/FDA regulated industry and compliance with IEC
60601-1-2. - Familiarity with EMC test standards and RF regulations (FCC, EN, CISPR).
- Experience with test equipment such as DMM, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, and power amplifiers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in SMT soldering.
- Ability to function as a team member in a collaborative work environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- Travel ability up to 30% of the time.
