Assistant Engineer II – Supply Acquisition Team
Primary focus: assisting with the implementation of local resources program development, water supply purchases, storage programs, and water exchanges. Involved in water resource planning, contract negotiations, cost estimates, cost assessments, maintaining program data, report preparation, invoices, and supporting new program development.
Responsibilities- Assist with documentation strategy: planning, analyzing customer needs, coordinating timelines, managing complex schedules.
- Assist with producing high-impact content: develop and evaluate materials including policy principles, contracts, and technical reports.
- Visualize complex data: design technical presentation materials, flowcharts, graphics.
- Ensure precision and accountability: review data for completeness and accuracy; develop and manage program budgets, track performance, reconcile costs.
- Collaborate across teams: contribute to project teams and cross-functional initiatives.
9/80 schedule, Monday through Friday, every other Friday off. Hybrid work schedule: two days in person, three days remote, subject to change.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience, including at the Assistant Engineer I level.
- Experience with water resources (groundwater, hydrology, hydraulics, and water treatment processes).
- Competence with Microsoft Excel.
Valid California Class C Driver’s License at time of application.
