Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, seeks to hire a Project Geotechnical Engineer for the Southern California area. Positions available in Laguna Hills, Riverside, or Los Angeles offices.
Responsibilities- Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
- Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis, and technical support under supervision.
- Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
- Prepare designs, reports, and calculations on complex projects for review.
- 6 to 10 years of related experience, or 4 years related experience with a Master's, or 2 years related experience with a PhD.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Strong analytical skills in soil and rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, materials testing and engineering, soil improvement techniques, and pavement design.
- Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations, and heavy civil project design and construction preferred.
- Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently or with a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.
- Willingness to travel, perform field work under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
- Ability to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self‑motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
- Willingness to work additional hours beyond a standard 40‑hour week when needed.
Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid holidays. Expected salary range: $91,000 - $120,000 (California Pay Transparency Law compliance).
