Senior Structural Managing Engineer
McMillen, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Managing Engineer with a strong technical background to help deliver exceptional service to our clients. The Senior Managing Engineer will work in a variety of water-related projects in fields including but not limited to: fisheries, fish passage, hydropower, dams, flood control, pump stations, water treatment, storm water, surface water management planning, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain client relationships.
- Identify project opportunities, actively pursue opportunities, and prepare proposals.
- Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders.
- Identify high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
- Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations.
- Effectively manage multi-discipline teams.
- Measure project performance.
- Execute the tasks as defined in the project plan.
- Identify key project team members.
- Implement the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events.
- Improve team performance by building team cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, and training.
- Evaluation and design of water infrastructure projects and other civil engineering support tasks.
- Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects.
- Prepare or oversee preparation of planning reports, plans and specifications, and cost estimates.
- Manage planning, design and construction support services.
- Design of storm water management systems.
- Preparation of drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited University.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 18+ years of experience in civil, and/or hydraulic engineering.
- Professional Engineering registration is required. California PE registration strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery related projects, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, wastewater treatment and pump stations.
- Familiarity with Federal Agency codes and requirements, including FERC, USACE, US .
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Compensation Package:
- Pay Range: $154,000 - $230,000 (DOE)
