We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer – Engineering and Technology to support the design, development, construction, commissioning, and operation of renewable and conventional power generation facilities. This role will work across multidisciplinary engineering teams on utility‑scale projects including solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), natural gas, combined‑cycle, simple‑cycle, and other thermal generation assets. The individual will assist in integrating plant systems, supporting technical evaluations, coordinating with OEMs and EPC contractors, and ensuring projects meet performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
ESSENTIALRESPONSIBILITIES
- Engineering & Design Support
- Support development and review of power plant system designs including electrical, mechanical, instrumentation & controls (I&C), plant auxiliary, and renewable integration systems.
- Assist with technical specifications, engineering calculations, equipment selection, and design reviews.
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, one‑line diagrams, layouts, and control philosophies.
- Coordinate interfaces between plant systems and project stakeholders.
- Project Development & Construction
- Support project execution activities during engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, OEMs, utilities, and internal teams.
- Participate in factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), commissioning, and startup activities.
- Track engineering deliverables, technical issues, and project action items.
- Support construction troubleshooting and field engineering activities.
- Operations & Reliability Support
- Assist in analyzing plant performance, reliability, and operational data.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action development for system issues.
- Participate in outage planning and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Help develop operating procedures, maintenance documentation, and technical reports.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure engineering activities comply with industry standards (IEEE, ASME, NFPA, API, IEC, etc.), environmental regulations, utility interconnection requirements, and company safety standards.
- Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–5 years of relevant experience or coursework in power generation, energy infrastructure, or industrial systems.
- Basic understanding of power plant systems and engineering principles.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Internship or co‑op experience in power, utilities, energy, or industrial facilities.
- Exposure to renewable energy systems, BESS, or thermal power generation.
- Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, PLCs, or plant control systems.
- Experience with HOMER, AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar engineering software.
- EIT/FE certification or progress toward licensure.
- Self‑motivated and eager to learn.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
- Ability to travel to project and plant sites as needed.
- Interest in energy transition and modern power generation technologies.
- Combination of office, construction site, and operating plant environments.
- Occasional travel to power plant and project sites.
- May require fieldwork in industrial environments with appropriate PPE.
