Primary FunctionThis position is responsible for performing Quality Engineering duties to support hydromechanical / electromechanical products in fabrication, assembly, and test. The role requires on‑site work.
Essential Functions- Provide quality assurance support to customers and internal functions including manufacturing, assembly, and test.
- Work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, customers, and suppliers.
- Support internal non‑conforming material control processes, including the Material Review Board.
- Review and approve product drawings, acceptance test procedures, manufacturing process plans, and first article reports.
- Oversee the review, implementation, and flow‑down of engineering change orders into manufacturing and supply chain.
- Drive efficient processing of customer RMAs, failure analysis, and responsive communication to customers.
- Support internal and customer system, process, and product audits.
- Develop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA, and control plans.
- Assist in product proof‑of‑build activities and in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes.
- Facilitate assembly and test process improvement and root cause analysis.
- Promote adherence to the client’s quality management system (AS9100) and drive process and product improvements.
- Develop systems for clear reporting and accurate data maintenance to support department KPIs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines and manufacturing concepts.
- Proficiency with program solving techniques such as 8D, Fishbone, 5‑why, and PFMEA.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship; U.S. person under ITAR regulations.
- Position requires ITAR compliance; no immigration sponsorship will be offered.
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Glendale, CA; relocation benefit not provided.
- Bachelor’s degree in quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Experience with geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with hydraulic or hydromechanical assembly and testing processes.
- Proficiency in Lean & Six Sigma tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical datasheets, and schematics.
- Quality and metrology knowledge.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF readers.
- Strong communication and interaction skills with engineering, tool room, and production.
