Office Engineer I

The Office Engineer I provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status report, as required.
- Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project information system.
- Maintain project files and document/submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies). Work with contractors to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner. Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to contractors.
- Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
- Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as: attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log; etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field required.
- 5 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.
- Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design‑Bid‑Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Ability to work in PM Web preferred.
- This is a Monday‑Friday full‑time position in the office or on the project site at LAX.

SalaryUSD $83,687.00 - USD $91,165.00 per year.
