Senior Acoustician – HDR Building Engineering Services Group
We are looking for a Senior Acoustician to provide technical leadership, perform architectural acoustics, environmental noise, and vibration analyses, and manage a medium to large staff of acoustical professionals.
Responsibilities- Be a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization, resolve problems of greater scope and complexity, lead and manage acoustical and vibration assessments, and work on a wide range of projects
- Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
- Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Serve as Project Manager on larger projects, though project management is not the sole focus of the position
- Focus on tasks including architectural acoustics, environmental noise, and vibration-related analyses
- Use state-of-the-art instruments to measure noise and vibrations and to process and analyze that data
- Perform other related duties as necessary
- PE or INCE Board certification
- Can travel to work in other local So Cal offices
- Driving to project/client sites will be required
- Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Math, Physics or closely related field
- 10 or more years of experience in acoustical analysis with a successful track record of marketing, project management, staff management and client satisfaction, business development skills
- Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment
- Familiarity of local clients and markets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with GIS and GPS
- Proficiency with state-of-the-art software used to process and analyze noise and vibration measurement data
- Familiar with relevant ISO and related acoustical standards
- Familiar with current guidance documents for acoustical analyses (FHWA, FTA, FRA, UFC, etc)
- May require travel

Expected compensation range for this position is $120,000–150,000, dependent on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
