An innovative spacecraft startup is seeking a Lead Avionics Engineer to own the design, integration, and testing of spacecraft avionics systems across multiple upcoming flight programs.
This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys leading hands‑on spacecraft hardware development in a fast‑moving environment.
Responsibilities- Lead spacecraft electrical interface design, integration, and test activities.
- Design and develop avionics subsystems and flat‑sat environment.
- Support RF integration, radio testing, and ground simulator setup.
- Own EMI/EMC and grounding strategies for the spacecraft system.
- Develop power budgets, communications architectures, and protocol selection.
- Drive electrical integration procedures and verification campaigns.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the technical team’s growth.
- 5–10 years of spacecraft avionics or electrical engineering experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with PCB design, harnessing, and spacecraft integration.
- Experience with EDA tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
- Familiarity with NASA GEVS standards.
- Experience leading integration and testing efforts preferred.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced startup environment.
- Help build spacecraft for high‑visibility government and commercial missions.
