Position Summary The Fire Protection Engineer serves as a subject matter expert in fire and life safety systems, providing technical leadership in design, inspection, testing, and compliance. This role ensures adherence to codes and standards while supporting facility and project teams.
Key Responsibilities Design and evaluate fire protection systems (alarm, detection, sprinkler, suppression, fire pumps)
Perform hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection
Review A/E and contractor drawings for compliance with codes and NFPA standards
Conduct inspections, testing, fire hazard analyses, and field surveys
Develop life safety plans and fire safety programs
Prepare technical reports and recommend corrective actions
Provide guidance to project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities
Support performance-based design using fire modeling and egress analysis
Deliver training and support system installation, maintenance, and upgrades suppression, fire pumps)

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Fire Protection or related field)
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license5+ years of engineering experience3+ years of fire alarm and suppression system experienceU.S. Citizenship required
Preferred:
Healthcare or life safety code experience
AutoCAD experience
