Engineering Manager

• Salary : $68 USD per hour - $80 USD per hour

Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with over 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction to lead the engineering aspects of high-profile projects. This role involves overseeing the technical and engineering functions, ensuring the delivery of innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that align with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and working on large-scale projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Technical Leadership

• Oversee all engineering activities, including design, analysis, and implementation of project solutions.
• Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Ensure engineering solutions align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

Project Management

• Collaborate with project managers to integrate engineering activities into the overall project lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise during planning, execution, and close‑out phases of projects.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet client and regulatory standards.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Budget and Resource Management

• Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost‑effective resource allocation.
• Identify and procure necessary tools, equipment, and materials for engineering activities.
• Monitor expenses and adjust engineering plans as necessary to stay within budget.

  Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all engineering solutions comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for technical challenges.

  Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors on engineering‑related matters.
  • Provide regular updates on engineering progress and address any technical concerns.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.
  Experience and Skills

  Qualifications

  Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction engineering.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering efforts for projects exceeding $10 million in scope.
  • Strong background in design‑build and preconstruction processes.
  Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP
    2000).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications.
  • Familiarity with sustainable engineering practices and innovative construction technologies.
  • Experience in public sector or infrastructure projects is a plus.
