Civil​/Structural Engineer at AECOM Los Angeles, CA

About the Position

Mid‑career Civil/Structural Engineer position in AECOM’s Energy Business Line. The role may be located at any of AECOM’s U.S. Energy offices.

• Perform engineering analyses and design and propose approaches to solve challenges.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to entry‑level engineers.
• Work within agreed budgets and schedules with little supervision.
• Provide engineering support for multi‑discipline design projects from scope development through construction completion.
• Evaluate and apply applicable building and design codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
• Travel to project sites and meetings as needed.
• Use computer software to solve structural engineering problems, including 3‑D analytical models.
• Assist with production of drawings and documents.
• Develop technical specifications, plans, and details.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 4 years of relevant industrial experience or equivalent education.

• 6+ years of experience.
• PE licensure.
• Experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Knowledge of AISC, ACI 318, International Building Code, ASCE 7.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro.
• Experience with civil drainage and sitework design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Enthusiastic, hard‑working, technically proficient, ambitious and driven.

• Compensation range: $95,000 – $125,000, based on location and qualifications.
