Responsibilities
- The I&E Reliability Engineer will review and provide comments on engineering design packages (issued for approval and construction packages) issued by engineering and capital projects team.
- Team member of FAT and SAT which may be performed at manufacturer or vendor site.
- Provides resolution on improper execution of trips (including spurious) and challenges resolution/corrective actions to prevent re-occurrences and deliver continuous improvement.
- Assist and lead instrumentation troubleshooting with I/E technicians.
- Assess changes by performing and supporting MOCs, validating programming changes prior to implementation, verifying all pertinent documentation changes (e.g. procedures, narratives, PMs) are accurately defined/documented, and supporting training (if required)
- Lead, drive and assure that site’s Critical Equipment Lists are up to date, maintained and documentation kept in accordance with Site procedures, PSM, and ISA requirements.
- Monitor Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), capturing and logging areas of improvement and undocumented actions to achieve successful tests. This activity is a joint responsibility with DCS Engineering Authority and/or Process Control Engineers.
- Perform RCFA following detailed design and troubleshooting guidelines, using investigating techniques for system failures.
- Relocation provided. $160K-$190K
- The I&E Reliability Engineer will have a BSEE and 5 + years’ experience in an Instrumentation or I/E Engineering position.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, instrumentation, process controls, and reliability engineering methodologies.
- Experience with PLCs, control systems, interlocks, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).
- Understanding of applicable industry standards including ANSI, ISA, IEC, API, NFPA, and NEC.
- Familiarity with IEC 61511, Safety Instrumented Systems, and functional safety concepts preferred.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
