Our client is an innovative engineering company developing next-generation wireless communications technology used in some of the world's most demanding environments. They are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing Hardware Engineering team and contribute to the design of cutting-edge embedded hardware and PCBAs for advanced communications products.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers ranging from mid-level through to senior, offering exposure to full product development from concept through production alongside multidisciplinary teams including FPGA, RF, Software and Mechanical Engineering.
What you'll be doing- Design mixed-signal electronic hardware and multi-layer PCBs for advanced communication systems
- Perform component selection, schematic capture and PCB layout using industry best practices
- Define PCB stack-ups, materials and design rules to optimise performance and manufacturability
- Design power distribution and power management circuitry
- Develop hardware incorporating high-speed digital interfaces including USB, Ethernet, I2C and RS232
- Support hardware bring-up, debugging, validation and root cause analysis using laboratory test equipment
- Work closely with FPGA, RF, Software and PCB Design teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure designs meet signal integrity, EMI and reliability requirements
- Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
- 2-8+ years’ experience in electronics or mixed-signal hardware design
- Experience designing multi-layer PCBs and schematic capture
- Knowledge of power supply and power management design
- Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, I2C and RS232
- Comfortable using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers and other electronic test equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Xilinx FPGA or SoC hardware
- High-speed PCB design and HDI routing
- Audio and/or video circuitry including codecs
- EMI/EMC design and compliance
- MATLAB, Python or C
- FCC, CE or MIL-STD compliance experience
- Salary from $100,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
- Hybrid working (3 days per week onsite in West Los Angeles)
