Engineering Project Manager
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Engineering Project Manager. This position is full-time and located in Los Angeles, CA. The salary is negotiable and the closing date is continuous.
Description/Responsibilities:As an Engineering Project Manager, you will oversee the project management of multiple capital and/or O&M projects in the Control System and Computer System areas. Your role will involve providing project management expertise on engineering projects and ensuring that engineering service meets Metropolitan's standards of quality, efficiency, and technical integrity. The scope of responsibility includes the day-to-day management of all project activities, assisting or leading the preparation of project proposals, performing and/or directing planning and scoping studies, obtaining project funding and authorization through the Board letter/Board presentation process, monitoring and controlling project scope, progress, schedules and budgets, coordinating with Water System Operations and Water Resources Management customers, identifying and coordinating environmental assessments and documentation, preparing reports, utilizing standard Metropolitan software applications:
Primavera, Microsoft Project; providing regular input and updates to the CIP system; performing other initiatives related to project management or new project evaluation, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and six years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Associate Engineer level.
Licenses, and Registration Requirements:
License(s):
- Valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
- License in good standing as a California Professional Engineer

- Large scale water treatment process design and operation;

- Engineering project management concepts and techniques, including scoping, budgeting, benchmarking, scheduling, negotiating, estimating, and planning; status reporting; project controls; project team building; conflict resolution; and leading project staff.
