Silicon Validation Engineer
In this highly visible role, you will perform lab characterization and validation of various analog & mixed signal embedded circuits; and collaborate with multi-functional teams to launch the world's most premiere mobile SoC's. We have an opportunity for a forward-thinking and especially motivated Analog Mixed Signal IP Silicon Validation Engineer! As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the rare and great opportunity to work on upcoming products that will delight and encourage millions of Apple's customers every day!
You will be part of a small team responsible for:
- Leading efforts to bring up, validate, and characterize high-speed Ser Des blocks.
- Applying hands-on expertise with various high-speed Ser Des architectures, including NRZ and PAM, and their associated protocols.
- Analyzing and debugging critical Ser Des components such as CTLE, DFE, FFE, CDR, and PLLs, and optimizing their performance through thorough characterization.
- Using high-speed test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and BERTs, to evaluate Ser Des performance.
- Implementing and assessing Ser Des adaptation techniques to improve signal integrity and link reliability.
- Conducting detailed signal integrity analysis for high-speed data transmission.
- Working with high-speed protocols such as USB, PCIe, and Display Port, ensuring protocol compliance and robust performance.
- Investigating data, troubleshooting complex issues, and applying strong problem-solving skills to resolve Ser Des-related challenges.
- Developing and executing test methodologies to determine operating margins of high-speed serial interfaces across PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature) variations.
- Collaborating with ATE and Product Engineering teams to support Ser Des characterization, validation, and product release.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MSEE and relevant experience, preferred.
- Hands on Ser Des Lab experience.
- Python programming experience.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,700 and $214,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
