The ideal candidate is a California-licensed Architect or Professional Engineer with a bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering and at least 15 years of experience managing facility design and capital improvement projects, including five years on K–12 educational facilities. They have extensive experience overseeing design teams, consultant management, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, DSA coordination, and code compliance while leading projects from concept through construction handoff.
They are a collaborative leader with strong technical, organizational, and communication skills who can successfully manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and design professionals while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met.
Required Experience:
- Fifteen (15) years full-time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that includes the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities
- 5 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of K-12 educational facilities
Required Education:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering
- A master's degree in architecture or engineering is preferred
Licenses and Certificates:
- A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
