VN Tunnel and Underground, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer candidate who has 5+ years of experience in geotechnical design and management. This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles area. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in very exciting and challenging projects in California. VN Tunnel and Underground, Inc. provides engineering and consulting services in tunnel and underground as well as conventional civil engineering works.

Responsibilities
- Managing geotechnical-related tasks and coordinating with clients
- Planning, estimating, and conducting field visit and subsurface investigation as needed
- Performing geotechnical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundations, embarkments/cuts, and earth retaining systems for transit/transportation projects
- Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports for underground projects including subway and water tunnels, subway station, deep shafts, support of excavation system, and structure foundations
- Coordinating with other engineers and clients in multi-disciplinary design projects
- Coordinating with CAD technicians and other team members in drawing production
- Having experiences of using commercially available geotechnical software (i.e. Ensoft, Geoslope, PLAXIS, Rocscience, etc)
- Periodically visit job sites or carry out short-term field assignments when needed
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- Minimum 5+ years of geotechnical experience
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Licensed Civil or Geotechnical Engineer in California
- Experience in geotechnical analysis and design tunnel and underground projects
- Familiarity with soil and rock testing, rock mass classification, ground characterization for tunneling
- Familiarity with latest codes and standards
- Capability in managing projects and engineers to develop engineering solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel for field work
