Structural Design Engineer
We are seeking a full-time Structural Engineer with design experience. Applicants must be able to start immediately. Responsibilities include planning and designing engineering assignments relating to existing and future commercial/state funded projects, assisting with the preparation of basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, basic reports and supporting documentation, communicating with clients regarding project issues, coordinating with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation, assisting with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits from government entities, reviewing architectural and shop drawings for proper use of company products, coordinating estimating, shop drawings and engineering support, developing job/condition specific details for clients and architects, providing support for product development process, and developing and supporting engineering policies and procedures in conjunction with Engineering Manager.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 10 years' experience with state funded engineering projects, land development, roadway, water/wastewater, construction and state funded projects. MTA experience is highly preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) License- preferred not needed. 5+ years engineering design for commercial projects: public structures, k-12, colleges, municipal buildings, hospitals, waste water, land development, roadways and state funded projects.
Good working knowledge of planning, engineering design and construction documents. Knowledge of Auto Cad and Microstation is key. Project Wise experience. Excellent technical and communication skills. Ability to work independently on several concurrent projects and participate in the entire design process. Ability to read, understand and adapt to local agency standards and be able to communicate with agencies and clients directly and effectively.
Project Management experience.
