About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Battery Engineer professional who specializes in designing, developing, and testing batteries for portable medical devices. This role blends expertise in electrochemistry, materials science, and electrical engineering to ensure batteries meet safety, reliability, and performance requirements, while adhering to cost targets / budget.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

On Site Role

  • Design & Development
    :
    Research and select battery technologies tailored for handheld medical devices, focusing on energy density, storage, aging, and safety
  • Testing & Analysis
    :
    Write test plans and run tests for performance under various conditions. This will include data analysis and technical presentation
  • Documentation: Requires publication of plans and reports in product life management system
  • Integration
    :
    Work with product design teams to integrate batteries into handheld medical devices, ensuring optimal fit, function, and user experience
  • Manufacturing Interface
    :
    Collaborate with battery manufacturer representatives to ensure compliance with battery requirements, internal quality standard sand use case model
  • Troubleshooting
    :
    Identify and resolve technical issues affecting battery performance, lifespan, and reliability
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    :
    Partner with systems, mechanical, and quality engineers

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of
    electrochemistry
    and
    battery materials
    (electrodes, electrolytes, separators)
  • Proficiency in
    battery accelerated aging for performance prediction
  • Experience with
    cell fabrication, testing, and failure analysis
  • Ability to work in a
    team-oriented, fast-paced environment
    and communicate technical concepts to non-specialists

Must Have:
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$ - $

For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $121,000 - $205,000 USD.
