We are seeking a Project Engineer - Sustainability to support a large public-sector capital improvement program focused on energy-efficient, high-performance, and sustainable facilities.

Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and engineering support throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout of capital improvement projects.
- Support sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency upgrades, renewable energy systems, electrification, LED lighting improvements, building automation systems, central plant optimization, microgrids, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and client representatives to resolve technical issues and support project delivery.
- Maintain and distribute current construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Perform field observations to verify construction activities comply with contract documents, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
- Track project progress through daily reports, field documentation, and photographic records.
- Review and log RFIs, submittals, change orders, field directives, and project correspondence.
- Assist with reviewing contractor submittals, monthly invoices, and project documentation.
- Maintain project files, record drawings, and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and project reports.
- Provide general project engineering and administrative support to the project management team.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting commercial, public, educational, or institutional construction projects valued at $15 million or greater
. - Experience supporting project management, construction administration, or capital improvement projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with sustainable building systems, energy efficiency, or renewable energy projects.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Familiarity with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) process.
- Experience supporting public-sector or educational facility construction projects.
