Structural Design Engineer (Junior to Senior Level)
A well-established structural engineering consulting firm is seeking Junior to Senior Structural Design Engineers to join its growing team in Los Angeles. The firm specializes in delivering innovative structural engineering solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects, including high-rise residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and seismic retrofit developments.

Key Responsibilities- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types using applicable engineering principles and design standards.
- Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, and design documentation.
- Develop and review structural drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Utilize structural analysis and design software to produce accurate engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the design process.
- Lead or participate in project coordination meetings.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and contractor requests.
- Conduct field observations, site visits, and structural inspections during construction.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Assist with mentoring junior engineers and managing project schedules and deliverables.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years of structural design experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; candidates actively pursuing a Structural Engineer (SE) license are highly preferred.
- Experience designing structures using:
Reinforced Concrete, Post-Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel, Wood, Masonry. - Strong understanding of seismic design principles and structural dynamics.
- Working knowledge of the California Building Code and applicable design standards (AISC, ACI, NDS).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills.
- Leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and engineering design software.
- Detail-oriented and technically strong professional.
- Positive, collaborative team player.
