The Engineering Tech III position serves as the Project As-Built Coordinator, managing the process of turning construction changes and field documentation into the projects final, accurate record drawings and permanent engineering records. Working closely with project teams, contractors, inspectors, and document control staff, the position verifies that field changes and construction documentation are accurately incorporated into final engineering records and transferred to Metropolitan’s document and asset information systems.
You will track deliverables, resolve missing or conflicting data, maintain digital content files related to the drawings, and ensure all project records meet applicable engineering, drafting, contractual, and organizational standards. You will manage the process from construction completion through final approval and maintain the Microsoft SharePoint As-Built Dashboard and verify that the official construction drawing set, including all field markups, are digitally scanned and stored in the appropriate Project Wise database construction-phase project folder.
Serving as the project CAD Coordinator during the as-built phase, you will establish and maintain key project details such as charge numbers, task codes, drawing indexes, drawing counts, discipline-specific PDF markup sets, and logs used to track as-built revision numbers. You will request and verify the latest revision numbers, record the data in the project tracking log, and maintain comprehensive project information including completion dates and responsible personnel on our as-built dashboard on Microsoft SharePoint.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the Design Technology Team, moving the Project Wise project folder from Active Projects to the As-Built Work-in-Progress area, confirming the transfer, and requesting that the Design Manager schedule an as-built kickoff meeting to align the project team objectives and expectations.
You will communicate regularly with project stakeholders, provide routine status reports to the Project and Design Managers, and secure written confirmations when required reviews are complete.

- Support Capital Improvement Project teams with the production of design drawings in the areas of drawing production, 3D modeling, CAD file management, CAD workflow and processes.

Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.
Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
