The Senior Piping Engineer will lead the design and analysis of piping systems for complex building and industrial projects in AEI’s Los Angeles, CA office. This full-time, on-site role includes developing piping layouts, performing detailed calculations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, constructible designs. The individual will review drawings and specifications, oversee stress analysis, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

Day-to-day responsibilities also involve collaborating with project managers and clients, supporting project planning and schedules, and helping resolve design and construction issues. The Senior Piping Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement in AEI’s standards and best practices while supporting sustainable and high-performance system design.

• Strong proficiency in Piping Design and Piping system layout for building and industrial applications.
• Experience with Pipe routing, material selection, and detailing to industry codes and standards.
• Ability to perform and review engineering Calculations related to flow, pressure, and system performance.
• Hands-on experience with Stress Analysis of piping systems, including support design and flexibility analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
• Proficiency with relevant design and analysis tools (e.g., 3D CAD, BIM platforms, and piping stress software).
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, building and mechanical codes).
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor team members, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
