Overview About Us
LiquidXR is an expanding, well-funded startup building a platform to digitize human movement. We are creating next-gen wearables using proprietary Metal Gel sensor technology, capturing and feeding movement data to our machine learning-enhanced algorithms and SDKs, which connect to any modern computer or development environment. We are partnered with several high-quality companies co-developing products using our tech, and we are advancing our platform to enable all types of body movement data capture and analysis across multiple areas of use (gaming, sports, performance, XR, and more).
Our tight knit hardware and software team is comprised of experts in product and UX development, biomechanics, algorithms and machine learning, software platform and experience development, electronic engineering, and soft goods industrial design. Individually and collectively, this is a team who gets things done and among us, countless products have been launched worldwide. We are passionate about creating a transformative platform and we are fortunate to work on cool products using our tech along the way.
ResponsibilitiesThe Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to design and iterate on the electronics behind our wearable platform.
In this role, you will contribute to the electrical architecture of our platform hardware and products, from initial concept to mass production. You will be responsible for designing, prototyping, bringing up, and validating low-power sensing electronics and flexible interconnect systems, with a special focus on compact, robust solutions for body‑worn devices. This is a hands‑on role for an engineer who is comfortable at the bench with a scope in one hand and a soldering iron in the other.
WhatYou'll Do
- Drive Electrical Design: Contribute to the end‑to‑end electrical design and PCB development for wearable platform components, low‑power sensor interfaces, and wearable consumer electronics.
- Schematic & PCB Layout: Design circuit schematics, select electronic components, and execute multi‑layer high‑density PCB/FPC layouts with attention to signal integrity, noise reduction, and compact wearable form factors.
- Validate Products & System Integration: Develop and execute test plans to validate electrical systems, battery management, power regulation, and sensor interface circuits against internal and external requirements.
- Bring Up and Debug: Build, bring up, and characterize prototype hardware; diagnose issues at the board and system level using scopes, logic analyzers, and lab instrumentation.
- Produce Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain meticulous engineering documentation, including schematics, layout files, bills of materials (BOMs), test plans, and test reports.
- Troubleshoot & Optimize: Apply structured problem‑solving, EMI/EMC compliance techniques, and root‑cause failure analysis to diagnose and resolve electrical bugs and signal integrity issues.
- Keep Work Moving: Manage your own deliverables across multiple concurrent programs, hit committed dates, and flag risks early.
- Collaborate and Integrate: Work closely with product management, mechanical engineers, manufacturing technicians, firmware and software engineers, and soft goods industrial designers, as well as external partners, to ensure seamless product integration and cohesive final products.
- Support Production Scaling: Assist with design for manufacturability and test (DFM/DFT) and work alongside manufacturing partners as designs move toward volume production.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–6 years of hands‑on electrical engineering…
