SENIOR AUTOCAD PLANT 3D DESIGNER

LOS ANGELES, CA | HYBRID

SCHEDULE: Onsite 1–2 days per week;
Remote remaining days

DURATION: 1-Year Contract

MAX PAY RATE: $67-72/hr.

In this role, you will contribute to the full engineering design lifecycle by developing high-quality technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models that meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining engineering design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Preparing accurate and detailed technical drawings and schematics based on engineering concepts and specifications.
• Developing and managing 3D piping models using Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Creating and maintaining intelligent P&IDs.
• Producing detailed orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Maintaining project databases and design information in accordance with applicable industry standards.
• Reviewing engineering design deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborating with engineers and other project team members to translate engineering concepts into clear and precise design documentation.

• Develop detailed engineering drawings and design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and manage 3D piping models using Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Develop intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Generate accurate orthographic and isometric drawings from 3D models.
• Maintain project databases and associated design information.
• Interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and requirements and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
• Review drawings and design deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Ensure design deliverables meet applicable regulatory requirements and client specifications.
• Identify and resolve drafting and design discrepancies.
• Maintain drawing standards, documentation, and project records throughout the design lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure design deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Apply strong attention to detail when developing and reviewing technical documentation.
• Support the preparation and revision of engineering drawings as project requirements evolve.

• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Strong knowledge of 3D piping design and modeling.
• Strong understanding of intelligent P&t.
• Proficiency in creating orthographic and isometric drawings.
• Strong technical drafting and documentation skills.
• Ability to interpret engineering concepts, specifications, and technical requirements.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to review technical drawings and identify discrepancies or design issues.
• Ability to manage multiple project deliverables and competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to maintain accurate project databases and design documentation.

• 10+ years of relevant engineering design/drafting experience.
• Extensive experience developing technical drawings and engineering design deliverables.
• Extensive experience with Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing 3D piping models.
• Experience creating intelligent P&IDs, orthographic drawings, and isometric drawings.
• Experience maintaining project databases and engineering design documentation.
• Experience working throughout the full engineering design lifecycle.
• Experience working in engineering, industrial, plant, or related design environments preferred.
