We value experience in customer service, hospitality, safety/security, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and wants a varied day-to-day experience in public spaces.

• Be visible and really friendly: create continual, friendly interactions in the public space to be reassuring and helpful.
• Maintain a visible presence by moving through your assigned zone on foot, bike, or vehicle to deter unwanted activity and engage with the public.
• Proactively address issues courteously using provided training, including interactions with socially unacceptable behaviors in a respectful manner.
• Provide ongoing reporting using a simple smartphone app to document activities and incidents.
• Take ownership of each person’s experience in the public space—visitor, resident, worker, or community member—and escalate when necessary to appropriate authorities or social service outreach when something out of the ordinary occurs.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

• Must have the physical capacity to ride a bike or traverse continuously during an eight hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty minute meal break).
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.

COMMUNICATION

• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
