Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all core accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and consistency across financial activities.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of financial reports, including income statements, cash flow summaries, and budget analyses.
- Supervise monthly account reconciliations and ensure timely delivery of financial statements.
- Coordinate external audits and manage the completion of annual tax filings.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable to maintain compliance and reduce financial risk.
- Minimum of 5+ years working in accounting for multi-family real estate or a similar sector.
- Proven experience using Yardi Voyager or equivalent property management software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team of at least four staff members.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
- Familiarity with payroll and property tax regulations and reporting standards.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, with formal education in the field preferred.
- Skilled in evaluating and implementing financial systems, policies, and internal controls.
- Capable of delivering strategic insights through financial analysis and forecasting.
- Effective communicator with experience presenting financial data to senior leadership.
- Adept at handling supervisory duties including performance reviews, training, and conflict resolution.
