An LA digital media startup is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for owning month-end close, overseeing accounting operations, and financial reporting. To be successful in this role, the Assistant Controller must have excellent communication skills, be detailed, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 10+ years of accounting experience
• MUST come from advertising or media-related industry
• CPA a plus
• Public accounting experience a bigger plus
• Advanced Excel

• Manage and maintain the general ledger
• Take full ownership of month-end close
• Oversee the annual audit
• Manage financial and tax reporting and work and maintain relationship with external consultants and agencies as needed
• Identify, create, and implement accounting practices, initiatives, and internal controls
• Oversee and develop staff
• Support financial and management reporting
