Job Responsibilities:
- Perform key areas of the month-end close process, including complex journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules for inventory, COGS, fixed assets, payroll, and other major accounts.
- Assist with consolidating multiple entities and preparing monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
- Analyze variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods and explain key drivers to finance leadership.
- Support accurate recording of manufacturing costs, including labor, overhead, and bill of materials (BOMs).
- Demonstrate strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and the full general ledger close process.
- Apply intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and SUMIFS.
- Utilize ERP systems effectively and assist with system enhancements or new module implementations.
- Maintain and improve documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other departments on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analyses.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting experience as a plus.
- Show experience with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement support.
- Bring familiarity with food manufacturing, meat processing, or consumer packaged goods industries.
- Exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
