Our client is a boutique investment bank based in Los Angeles, providing high‑touch advisory services. Their lean deal teams offer Associates the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with senior bankers and clients, and gain exposure across multiple industries and transaction types.
Role OverviewThe ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. Associates will play a key role in executing transactions, managing work streams, developing client materials, and contributing to business development initiatives. The successful candidate will have sightlines to deal‑based bonuses.
Key Responsibilities Transaction Execution- Build and review detailed financial models, including M&A, LBO, DCF, and operating models.
- Conduct valuation analyses (comps, precedent transactions, DCFs, accretion/dilution).
- Manage due diligence processes, including data room coordination and analysis of financial and operational information.
- Draft and refine marketing materials such as CIMs, management presentations, pitchbooks, and teasers.
- Support senior bankers on deal negotiations, process management, and client communications.
- Work directly with Managing Directors and senior leadership on live deals and pitches.
- Participate in client meetings and calls, providing analytical insights and project updates.
- Coordinate with attorneys, accountants, lenders, and other external advisors.
- Prepare industry research, market updates, and competitive landscapes.
- Analyze financial statements and operational data to identify key trends and drivers.
- Monitor relevant market, regulatory, and industry developments.
- 2–4 years of experience in Investment Banking
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with high attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple work streams, and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in small, highly productive teams.
- Bachelor's degree required
