Position Summary
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant with ideally entertainment business management experience to join our team of dedicated professionals. The role includes preparing various reports, simple to moderately complex tax returns, tax projections, and conducting tax research. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, with flexibility to adjust office attendance as needed. This role is based in Encino, CA.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate (S‑corp and C‑corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns.
- Review general ledger and reports to assist in preparing tax projections.
- Perform tax research and planning to resolve client tax issues.
- Correspond with clients regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits.
- Prepare closeouts for loan‑out corporations and analyze payroll withholding requirements for federal and state.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, and tour reconciliations.
- Assist with state, local, and international tax clearances for touring artists.
- Support the client service team with other projects as necessary.
- 1+ year(s) of experience in preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
- 3+ years in a similar role is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with Agilink and GoSystems, CCH tax software is a plus.
- CPA or CPA eligibility highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, and critical thinking.
- Ability to learn new systems and process information quickly.
- Organization skills with attention to detail.
The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $65,000 - $85,000. Actual base pay could vary based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and the applicant’s skill set. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
