Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President to join our Capital Markets team with a primary focus on debt financing execution. This role will work closely with senior leadership to source, structure, and execute financing solutions across the firm’s real estate investments, including acquisitions, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
The AVP will play a key role in lender outreach, relationship management, and managing syndication processes with banks and other lending institutions. This is a highly external‑facing role and an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong commercial real estate debt experience to transition from a brokerage or advisory environment to the principal side.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of senior loans, mezzanine loans, and structured debt transactions, including note‑on‑note, A/B note, and repo facilities
- Coordinate lender outreach to banks, institutional lenders, debt funds, and other credit providers
- Prepare and distribute financing materials, including teasers, underwriting packages, and lender data rooms
- Manage end‑to‑end debt syndication processes, including lender RFPs, bid tracking, diligence coordination, and closing execution
- Interface directly with lenders, warehouse providers, and capital partners throughout the financing lifecycle
Lender & Counter party Relationship Management
- Help maintain and grow relationships with banks, life companies, CMBS lenders, debt funds, and repo providers
- Represent the firm in lender meetings, calls, and industry conferences
- Track lender feedback, pricing, leverage, and structuring considerations across asset types and financing strategies
- Support repeat financing relationships under the direction of senior capital markets leadership
Market & Structuring Support
- Assist in evaluating loan structures, intercreditor arrangements, and credit terms
- Support analysis of financing options involving multi‑tranche and bifurcated capital structures
- Monitor debt capital markets trends, including pricing, leverage, and lender appetite for structured transactions
- Maintain internal databases of lender relationships, deal terms, and market intelligence
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Work closely with acquisitions, asset management, and legal teams to ensure smooth execution of financings
- Coordinate diligence materials and responses to lender and counter party requests
- Support internal approval and investment committee processes related to debt financings
- Contribute to special projects and other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate debt capital markets
- Strong preference for candidates from top‑tier brokerage or advisory firms (e.g., JLL, CBRE, Eastdil, Ackman Ziff, Newmark)
- Demonstrated experience executing structured debt transactions, including exposure to note‑on‑note, A/B note, or repo financing
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, underwriting, and debt capital structures
- Familiarity with intercreditor dynamics, warehouse lending, and lender risk frameworks
- High level of comfort in externally facing, relationship‑driven roles
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and execution‑focused
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus but not…
