Derivatives Operations Specialist

Company Description

Our client is a global asset management / investment management firm based in downtown LA.

The Derivatives Operations Specialist is part of the broader derivatives operations team, with a primary focus on collateral and margin activities for products like swaps, FX forwards, futures, and options.

• Assist with onboarding, custody reports, CSDR penalty analysis, and ad-hoc projects.
• Perform daily regulatory portfolio reconciliation and data validation.
• Resolve discrepancies and reconcile collateral, transactions, and cash with custodians and brokers.
• Manage cash and security movements, ensuring accurate processing.
• Partner with global teams in Los Angeles and London to support derivatives operations.
• Oversee daily margin activities, including issuing, validating, and responding to margin calls.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in asset management or investment operations, with exposure to derivatives, collateral/margin, or trade support activities.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week in DTLA.
• Knowledge of futures, FX forwards, and swaps, including lifecycle events and calculations.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, tri Optima, and Excel preferred.
