Team & ResponsibilitiesThe Royalties Processing team operates within Warner Chappell Music, interacting with numerous departments (Finance, Legal and Copyright) daily. As part of our team, you’ll develop a comprehensive understanding of royalties administration while working on some of the most iconic songs ever written.
This role is responsible for a variety of technical royalty tasks including dealing with domestic and Canadian performing rights societies, overseas affiliates, IT requests, cash book reconciliation, suspense research and statement dispatch.
- The reconciliation, payment and management of U.S. and Canadian royalties.
- Monthly, quarterly and bi‑yearly reconciling of royalty income.
- Analyzing and loading local societal and record‑company data files.
- Creating, inputting and supervising statement processing for the U.S. and Canada.
- Processing royalty inquiries from a variety of sources, conducting research and responding in a timely manner.
- Working with and analyzing a wide variety of file formats (Excel, txt, DAT).
- Conducting independent suspense research related projects.
- Efficient administration of U.S. and Canadian royalties while maintaining effective working relationships with partners.
- Maintaining a good filing/archival system to assist in any open audits.
- Assisting with other general department issues as workload dictates.
- Providing strong support to the Royalty Processing Director on arising issues and projects as necessary.
- Proven experience with music administration, ideally in publishing or a collection society.
- Background in finance either through work experience or formal qualifications.
- Ability to read and understand materials and documents and extract critical data and information.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills, with the ability to calculate royalty income accounting.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- A proactive, flexible attitude, with a desire to learn and progress.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Natural curiosity and drive to understand and resolve root issues.
- Ability to troubleshoot both in group and independent settings.
- Good understanding of music publishing and performing‑rights society practices.
- Advanced computer literacy on reporting packs such as Excel and Tableau.
- Basic knowledge of Python and/or SQL.
- Good working knowledge of royalty calculations and use of rates.
- Ability to design high‑quality decks and visual materials using presentation platforms such as Canva or Google Slides.
- A proactive approach to integrating Generative AI (e.g., Gemini) into everyday work to support and streamline daily tasks and overall productivity.

• Salary Range: $28.21‑30.76/hour (subject to change)
