We are seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to oversee the financial operations of our dealership group. The Controller is responsible for providing accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting executive leadership with financial analysis that drives profitability and operational efficiency.
This role works closely with dealership General Managers, the CFO and executive leadership to monitor financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure compliance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
Financial Reporting & Analysis- Prepare complete monthly financial statements in accordance with dealership guidelines and manufacturer reporting requirements within established deadlines.
- Ensure all manufacturer accounts—including warranty claims, rebates, interest protection, and co-op advertising—are current, accurate, and properly reconciled.
- Review and interpret financial statements and Daily Operating Control (DOC) reports and communicate key trends to executive leadership.
Provide department managers and dealership leadership with detailed financial and operational reports to support performance management and decision-making. - Assist in developing short- and long-term financial forecasts for the organization.
- Review the general ledger and scheduled accounts regularly and investigate any unusual or inaccurate entries.
- Oversee reconciliation of general ledger accounts with external sources including bank accounts, reserve accounts, factory receivables/payables, and floorplan payables.
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures are properly followed by office staff.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure integrity of all accounting data and reporting systems.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and financial regulations and advise leadership on operational adjustments when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations including payroll taxes, income taxes, and retirement plan reporting.
- Experience with all state taxation filings
- Coordinate annual audits, reviews, and physical inventory with external auditors and accounting partners.
- Manage dealership accounting and computer systems to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise accounting office personnel and ensure consistent adherence to accounting standards and procedures.
- Coordinate preparation of schedules and documentation required for CPA audits and reviews.
- Participate in management meetings and provide financial insight to support business decisions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Envision Motors with integrity and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.
