About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Controller to serve as the day-to-day accounting leader for our growing multifamily property portfolio.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in environments where they can build, improve, and lead — not just maintain existing processes. You will own financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and drive accuracy and accountability across the organization.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Overseeing full-cycle accounting operations for a multifamily property portfolio

  • Managing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close across multiple sites and budgets

  • Reviewing financial statements, general ledger activity, accruals, and reconciliations

  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting standards

  • Partnering with the CFO on reporting, audits, and strategic initiatives

  • Supporting property operations with accurate, reliable financial data

  • Improving accounting workflows and strengthening internal controls as the company scales

  • Leading, mentoring, and reviewing the work of accounting team members

  • Supporting acquisitions, transitions, and system improvements

  • Serving as the escalation point for complex accounting matters

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA required

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (multifamily or real estate strongly preferred)

  • Proven experience leading month-end close and financial reporting

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls

  • Experience with property management accounting systems (Yardi preferred)

  • Strong communicator with the ability to partner cross-functionally

  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills

  • Ability to operate independently with ownership and accountability

Compensation & Benefits
