Position: Health Consulting Actuarial Analyst – Los Angeles – College Program 2026

Mercer’s Health Actuarial team seeks an Analyst to join in Los Angeles, CA. The hybrid role requires working at least three days per week in the office or from a client site.

Responsibilities
  • Develop employee contribution strategies to meet employer cost objectives
  • Assist in the development of customized pricing and valuation models
  • Price medical and prescription drug plan designs using proprietary Mercer tools
  • Analyze vendor renewals and plan experience, estimate future plan costs
  • Develop basic underwriting and actuarial skills, building awareness of health care plan design, cost factors, renewal process, industry products, services, tools, and market dynamics
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree with graduation in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026, concentration in actuarial science, math, statistics, economics, engineering or related fields (highly preferred)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Commitment to achieving a Society of Actuaries (SOA) designation with at least one SOA exam passed
  • Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without need for sponsorship now or in future

Compensation

The applicable base salary for this role is $73,000/year. The position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
