Overview
Leads and manages assigned staff within the Greater NY City/Tri-state area of Wealth Management. Represents Wilmington Trust in collaboration with the Commercial, Business and Private Banking teams to expand brand recognition and business opportunities for wealthy clients.
Primary Responsibilities- Direct and participate in the development and management of wealth client relationships with individuals, business owners and families.
- Work closely with families and their advisors to ensure the relationship is handled efficiently and effectively in the delivery of services.
- Refer client requests for additional products to the appropriate sales specialist within the organization.
- Provide sales leadership and manage the sales process for the assigned team.
- Establish team goals and track their performance.
- Represent the Bank in civic and community activities.
- Exercise the usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
- Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
- Identify risk‑related issues needing escalation to management.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and at least 11 years of related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience working with complex tax and legal issues; alternatively a combined minimum of 15 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 11 years of related wealth management, investment, trust or estate planning experience with complex tax and legal issues.
- Minimum of 4 years of managerial experience.
- MBA (Master’s degree in Business Administration) or JD (Juris Doctor) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CTFA (Certified Trust and Financial Advisor) or similar certification.
