Senior Director - Fund Accounting

An alternative investment firm is seeking an experienced fund accounting professional to lead financial operations and reporting activities across a diverse portfolio of investment vehicles. This individual will oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, valuation support, investor reporting, and operational controls while partnering closely with investment, operations, and client‑facing teams.

This is a hybrid role

• Lead accounting and reporting functions for investment funds, partnerships, and managed accounts.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to accounting team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
• Oversee close processes, including reconciliations, expense accruals, fee calculations, and financial data validation.
• Review and analyze portfolio activity, investment transactions, and cash movements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Monitor financial controls, documentation practices, and reporting procedures to support internal governance requirements.
• Evaluate complex investment structures, financing arrangements, allocations, and distribution calculations.
• Review performance reporting and investment‑level analytics for accuracy and consistency.
• Coordinate with auditors, administrators, and other external service providers throughout reporting cycles.

• Fund accounting & public accounting (tax, audit, assurance) experience within asset management
• Experience with complex investment structures, capital activity, allocations, and fund operations.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance to unique investment scenarios.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
• Prior experience managing teams or overseeing accounting professionals is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
