A confidential lifestyle luxury resort in the Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the property’s financial strategy, reporting, compliance, and operational performance.
This role is ideal for a finance leader who brings strong technical expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to partner closely with ownership, executive leadership, and department heads to drive results.
The RoleAs Director of Finance, you will serve as the property’s financial strategist and business partner, overseeing the overall financial health of the resort while supporting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and long-term business strategy.
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, compliance, and balance sheet integrity.
- Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, control costs, and maximize revenue.
- Partner with department leaders on labor management, expense control, payroll, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, mentor, and lead a high‑performing finance team.
- Support revenue strategy, market positioning, distribution oversight, and property‑wide business initiatives.
- 8–10+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Hospitality, resort, or service industry experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Highly proficient in financial systems, Excel, reporting tools, and financial controls.
- Clear, confident communicator with the ability to partner with both financial and non‑financial leaders.
- Hands‑on leader who balances strategic thinking with operational execution.
- Leads with integrity, accountability, discretion, and a collaborative mindset.
