Job Overview
Responsible for managing clients and related credit products, partnering with relationship management, sales/trading, treasury management, operations and risk teams to support the client relationship. Key functions include underwriting, monitoring, and documenting credit risk for an asset‑based lending (ABL) portfolio.
Responsibilities- Assess clients’ credit needs in collaboration with relationship management and product partners.
- Drive credit and risk approval processes for new credit originations, renewals, increases, and modifications.
- Lead ongoing portfolio monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations, policy, and procedure.
- Drive the growth of funded loans and revenue while mitigating risks and maintaining asset quality.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex credit transactions.
- Mentor and support associates.
- Oversee credit assessment and approval by evaluating borrower creditworthiness through financial analysis, forecasting, risk assessment, and due diligence.
- Structure and approve transactions, including lending limits, deal terms, risk ratings, renewals, and breach actions.
- Act as a senior advisor on credit matters and partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate risk ratings and proactive asset‑quality management.
- 7+ years of experience in asset‑based or commercial lending.
- Experience monitoring the credit health of asset‑based or commercial lending clients.
- Strong knowledge of loan and collateral documentation.
- Ability to analyze borrower financial picture and deliver comprehensive risk analysis to managers and risk officers.
- Confidence to develop an independent viewpoint and present a business case.
- Excellent relationship management, team collaboration, and influence skills.
- Coaching and mentoring experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance.
- 10+ years of asset‑based or commercial lending experience.
- Business acumen, decision‑making, loan structuring, collaboration, credit documentation, oral and written communication, client solutions, underwriting, analytical thinking, attention to detail, financial analysis, forecasting, modeling, and research.
Shift: 1st shift (United States). Hours per week: 40.
Salary & BenefitsAnnual salary range: $99,000.00 – $ (based on experience, education, and skill set). Eligible for discretionary incentive plan and benefits package.
