  • Serve as the primary point of contact for organizations seeking impact-first investments, directing intake and preliminary review of direct loans, loan guarantees, loan fund participations, and direct equity or venture capital investments.
  • Maintain the investment pipeline, tracking opportunities from initial inquiry through closing and ensuring they're routed through established review and approval processes.
  • Partner with the Impact Team and the Foundation's investment consultant to evaluate strategic alignment, financial feasibility, risk, and proposed investment structures.
  • Oversee due diligence materials and checklists, and prepare or direct the preparation of investment memoranda, summaries, and Investment Committee materials.
  • Serve as project manager for investments throughout due diligence, developing transaction timelines and facilitating discussions among borrowers, consultants, legal counsel, and Foundation staff to advance deals.
  • Oversee investment and loan documentation, closing requirements, and the funding process for approved investments, liaising with Finance and other internal departments.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, maintain accurate records, and manage invoicing, repayment schedules, and covenant reporting for the impact-first investment portfolio.
  • Evaluate amendment, waiver, or restructuring requests and develop recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Attend Investment Committee meetings, oversee logistics and minutes, and independently track and implement follow-up actions.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for borrowers, investees, and prospective applicants, and as the internal resource for colleagues on impact-first investments.
  • Prepare periodic reports on pipeline activity and portfolio performance, and support policy, process, and workflow improvements for the impact-first investment program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in community development finance, impact investing, program related investing, commercial lending, nonprofit finance, investment operations, philanthropy, or a related field.
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, with strong organizational and project management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Experience working with investment documentation, loan agreements, or legal documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word; experience with Workday a plus.
  • Clear and compelling communicator, able to interact confidently with diverse audiences including donors, Board members, and nonprofit and community groups.
