International Trade Services Operations OfficerJoin our dynamic Trade Finance Operations Team as a Senior Letter of Credit Officer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing complex trade finance transactions. This hands‑on, production‑focused position requires end‑to‑end ownership of letters of credit (LCs) and related products, ensuring precision, compliance, and exceptional service in a fast‑paced environment.
As a seasoned trade finance expert, you’ll drive the seamless execution of global trade transactions, mitigate risks, and uphold CNB’s commitment to operational excellence. Your expertise will directly support our clients’ international trade activities while maintaining robust regulatory adherence. You must demonstrate the ability to independently manage complex transactions in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Perform end‑to‑end processing of trade finance transactions, including input, review, and transaction release/authorization
- Manage the lifecycle of trade products (Commercial Letters of credit (Import/Export), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), Transferable Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Shipping Guarantees and Trade‑related financing)
- Examine documents for compliance with credit terms, and applicable rules and regulations
- Issuance, advising, amendment, and negotiation of LCs in compliance with UCP 600/ISP
98 and regulatory guidelines - Collaboration with internal teams (e.g., Relationship Managers, Compliance) and external stakeholders (banks, clients) to resolve
- Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and within established service level agreements
- Adhere to all internal policies and procedures and regulatory requirements, including OFAC, AML, BSA, and Anti‑boycott regulations
- Proactively identify, elevate, and mitigate risks while maintaining a robust control environment
- Drive process improvements, enhance efficiency, and uphold service level agreements (SLAs)
- Independently address complex issues with creativity and sound judgment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in trade finance, with a proven track record in LCs and related products
- Ability to identify process gaps, recommend policy changes, and contribute to long‑term operational goals
- Expert knowledge of ICC rules (UCP 600, URR 725, ISP
98, URC 522) and regulatory frameworks (OFAC, AML, BSA) - Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards
- Critical and strategic thinker; long‑term strategic focus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to interact with some mid‑level management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Trade Processing systems
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organization skills
Starting base salary: $44.87 - $55.19 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
