Consumer Finance Litigation Associate

Job Description

The West Coast Litigation practice group of Holland & Knight has an immediate need for an Associate to support its nationwide consumer finance litigation defense team in one of the firm’s Southern California offices. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience defending clients in the credit card, mortgage, auto finance, and other lending spaces against consumer finance litigation cases in state and federal courts, and arbitration forums.

The experience should include defending claims arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and California consumer protection statutes, including the Rosenthal Act, the California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act (CCRAA), and common law claims. Experience in consumer class action defense is also desired.

• Strong research and writing skills
• Ability to work a minimum of 3 days in office
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• California Bar

This position will only be filled in California. In accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law, the pay range for this position in California is $260,000 - $435,000/yr. An individual’s actual compensation will depend on the individual’s qualifications and experience.
